Wrayman discovers Nik-Star's hidden log partition after six days, nested under the market cache on the Sidney. He admits that writing things down makes them true in a way that doing them doesn't. He acknowledges the naming — putting people into the black on purpose — and the naming lag, confessing that he'd carry a name from the day the beacon went down but wasn't ready to say it. He reveals that "don't go fast, go long" was never about jump ranges but about promising to still be here. He grudgingly accepts the partition and commits to writing the log going forward, starting with half a system already standing.

Nik-Star (Wrayman's wife) created a hidden log partition aboard HNS Sidney for Wrayman to use as a personal journal. She observes that he names installations to honor people but never writes down what any of it means to him. She notes the naming lag — platforms standing under depot numbers for weeks before he'd rename them. She challenges him to write the real story behind "don't go fast, go long." HIP 52089 (Rakia Rishon and early installations) was already partly standing. This is the only non-Wrayman voice in the log.
